2010 U.S. Open – Day 3 Musings…

The biggest story of Wednesday in New York was undoubtedly the literal collapse of Victoria Azarenka in the first match of the day on the Grandstand Court at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. Down 5-1 in her match against Gisela Dulko, the #10 seed fell unconscious to the court a few feet behind her baseline in the first set of their second-round match and was taken off the court in a wheelchair. It was a day when the brackets started tumbling at Flushing Meadows. With the men’s and women’s singles tournaments joined by the first set of first-round matches in men’s doubles there were even more opportunities to see seeded players falling.
