It was a day when the brackets started tumbling at Flushing Meadows. With the men’s and women’s singles tournaments joined by the first set of first-round matches in men’s doubles there were even more opportunities to see seeded players falling. So I broke down both sides of the singles draws when the 32 seeds were revealed. There weren’t too many surprises, the U.S. Open a tournament that deigns to seed mostly by the current ATP rankings. But we’ve got a little more insight into how the last Grand Slam of the 2010 tennis season might play out now that the full brackets are revealed.
