About

Wherever you are in the globe, whatever sport your heart fancies, if you’re going to the stadium you cannot get to your seats and see the action unless you present your ticket and pass through the turnstile. Whether a World Cup final or a minor-league contest, the turnstile unifies fans in that we all come into contact with their egalitarian simplicity. With a simple spin of the mechanism you gain entry into the energized environment of your desires, the turnstile that turns us from a passive to an active spectator.

In that spirit, Global Turnstile is Sports Nickel’s portal into the greater world of international sports. The site covers the spectrum of athletic action that spans Planet Earth year-round. Featuring the viewpoints of Sports Nickel’s expert in international competition, Zach Bigalke, Global Turnstile serves as your one-stop shop to learn about all the happenings in the wider world of sports beyond just what is happening on American soil. Featuring both daily coverage as well as weekly columns, the mission of Global Turnstile is to focus on the nuances of the various pastimes that entrance and delight fans on all continents.

Formerly the managing editor of Informative Sports before its merger with Sports Nickel, he serves as the editorial presence for Global Turnstile. As the man who formerly wrote the weekly column “A Non-Traditional Sports Fan in America” for Sports Nickel, he serves as the site’s chief scribe and columnist.
